As the name implies, Felinfoel brewery is situated in ‘Felinfoel’, a small village adjoining Llanelli in Wales.
Historians tell us that in the old days the inn brewed its own beer, but only during the winter months. The keeping qualities and the strength of the beers, therefore, were of prime importance and the popularity of ‘Felinfoel Beer’ led to the local inn brewing for other inns in the locality. This, in turn, led to the present brewery being built in 1878 to accommodate demand.
Deep copper red ale. On the nose there is a distinctive note of bruised apple and pear skins with an undertone of caramel. On the palate it is full-bodied and creamy-textured, with plenty of nutty, light toffee notes and a big core of tangy red fruit flavour.
Golden straw in colour with a nice aroma of floral hops and a background of malt on the nose. A medium-bodied beer that shows some caramelized malt on the palate with balanced bittering hops and some cereal breadiness. The long finish has yet more of the floral notes.
A new permanent addition to our canned craft ale range. At 4.5% this is a full drinking premium Welsh Ale which is malty and gently hopped. Dragon’s Heart has a rich colour and smooth balanced character with lots of red fruit flavour and buttery overtones.
A full flavoured bitter with a toffee aroma with a hint of fruitcake. The flavour is toasty, nutty with some caramel malts and hints of figs and cherries. On the tongue are herbal, resiny hops and some bitterness.
